Over 30 years developing young talent and promoting values in international youth football

History

The ARNEDO CUP is an international youth football tournament celebrating over 30 years of history, establishing itself as a must-attend event on both the national and international sporting calendar. Born with the modesty of those who start with enthusiasm, the tournament has grown year after year, both in institutional support and in the quality and number of participating teams, becoming one of the most prestigious tournaments in Spain.

Throughout its editions, the ARNEDO CUP has brought together young talents from the top football academies in Spain and other countries, offering players a unique competitive and cultural experience. The values of youth football—teamwork, respect, discipline, and personal growth—are at the heart of the tournament’s philosophy, promoting the comprehensive development of participants both on and off the field.

The tournament’s quality is reflected in the names of players who passed through the ARNEDO CUP and later shone in La Liga and national teams, including Gerard Piqué, Dani Carvajal, Nacho Fernández, Álvaro Morata, Jordi Alba, Illarramendi, Thiago Alcántara, Gerard Deulofeu, Javi Martínez, Iñigo Martínez, and Javier Adán, among many others. Their participation demonstrates the high level of competition and the tournament’s commitment to developing young footballers.

Since 2018, ASOCIACIÓN DEPORTIVA TORNEO CIUDAD DEL CALZADO has been responsible for organizing and managing the ARNEDO CUP, bringing together all local institutions involved in football: the Arnedo Football School, C.D. Arnedo—with over 50 years of history—veteran football, and amateur football. This organizational framework ensures solid coordination with all relevant entities, including the referees’ association and local and regional administrations.

The success of the ARNEDO CUP would not be possible without the dedication of volunteers, families, and sponsors, whose selfless support ensures that each edition is carried out with excellence and safety. Thanks to them, hundreds of young players can enjoy a tournament that combines high-level sport, the learning of values, and international camaraderie.

The ARNEDO CUP continues to grow, keeping its essence alive: a space where youth football becomes training, fun, and opportunities for the footballers of tomorrow.
